Most of you have no doubt heard of the case of Christa Thompson, our client charged with violating the COVID-19 “Order to Self-Isolate for the State of Idaho” by holding a yard sale on her own property. She remains the only person criminally charged under the Order. Through the summer, we remained hopeful that reason would prevail and the case would be dismissed as the arraignment was pushed back and the case was transferred to the Post Falls Prosecutor’s Office. Unfortunately, it appears the State plans to proceed against this mother-of-six today. Therefore, we have filed the attached Motion to Dismiss and Memorandum in Support. We will continue to fight hard against this blatant abuse of the law and prosecutorial discretion until we achieve justice in this case.
